How does NANDO technology work?
NANDO is a proprietary Artificial Intelligence solution for waste management that collects and analyzes real-time data on waste types and quantities across office, industrial, food and urban waste.
The platform uses computer vision and machine learning algorithms specifically developed for waste measurement and optimization. All data is processed on NANDO’s secure infrastructure and made available through a web application, ensuring accuracy, traceability and full data control.
Unlike generative AI tools such as ChatGPT or Gemini, NANDO.AI relies on custom-built algorithms, not external data models, making it suitable for operational use, ESG reporting and compliance.
NANDO is developed by ReLearn Srl, an ISO 9001:2015 certified company for the design and implementation of AI solutions for waste management.

How does NANDO.AI ensure irreversible anonymization of sensitive photos (e.g., faces and license plates) ?
NANDO guarantees privacy-by-design through automatic, irreversible anonymization at every stage of image processing:

Real-time detection and blurring of faces and license plates directly on the device, before any data is transmitted

Faces are detected using computer vision models and masked at pixel level to prevent re-identification

License plates are automatically identified and blurred based on shape and position

Only already-anonymized images are transmitted via encrypted HTTPS to NANDO’s secure EU-based cloud (VPC)

If image storage is disabled, photos are never saved and are permanently deleted after processing
This ensures full compliance with GDPR and prevents any recovery of personal data.
Does NANDO need access to customer system?
No. NANDO operates independently from the client’s infrastructure.
It does not require access to internal systems and does not rely on the client’s Wi-Fi network, using a secure, dedicated connection instead.
